O projeto “Brake Noise”, visa reduzir o ruído intenso e vibração que é produzido no sistema de travagem sempre que é realizada uma travagem de emergência.
As linhas de pesquisa seguidas neste projeto são, por um lado, a manipulação das propriedades da liga de Ferro Fundido Nodular e, pelo outro, o design da peça.
O projeto começou em março de 2016 e terminou no final de 2018.
Este projeto foi liderado pelo IK4-Azterlan, em cooperação com a Sakthi Portugal, FEUP, U. Aveiro e CITNM.
Deste projeto surgiu a primeira tese de Doutoramento desenvolvida no CITNM, com o tema "Material Damping Behaviour of Critical Safety Automotive Components".
The “Brake Noise” project, aims to reduce the intense noise and vibration that is produced at the braking system when an emergency braking is performed.
The lines of research being followed in this project are both the manipulation of the Nodular Cast Iron alloy properties and the casting design.
The project began in March 2016 and concluded at the end of 2018.
This project was led by IK4-Azterlan, in cooperation with Sakthi Portugal, FEUP, U. Aveiro and CITNM.
This project resulted in the first PhD thesis developed at CITNM under the subject "Material Damping Behaviour of Critical Safety Automotive Components".
